Letter to Members of U.S. House on Bill Addressing Puerto Rico’s Status

This week HLF sent a letter to U.S. Representatives in support of H.R. 6246, a bill introduced by Jenniffer Gonzalez, Puerto Rico’s representative in Congress (officially known as the Resident Commissioner), that would move the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico toward full admission into the Union. HLF believes statehood will provide the necessary stability in this United States jurisdiction to engender greater investment, transparency, and stability.  The economic benefits would have a positive effect on the whole of the United States.  The new status would also secure a strategic and economic anchor for our nation in the Caribbean.
