“Today’s Supreme Court decision is a victory for the Constitution, for originalist jurisprudence, and for America.  No president can rewrite the Constitution by Executive Order, no matter how much they dislike any of its provisions or the Americans it protects.  For decades, originalist legal scholars have recognized that the 14th Amendment established birthright citizenship as the law of the land.  The 14th Amendment has always been, and continues to be, a catalyst for assimilation and civic cohesion.  And despite the many vicious lies and slurs directed at immigrants and their descendants, America is stronger and more prosperous thanks to generations of people from around the world that have become Americans.”
