Yesterday, the prominent political paper Roll Call published a piece discussing the “Building the Conservative Hispanic Coalition” panel which featured our President Mario H. Lopez. The link is here, although it is subscription-only. Lopez was asked what conservatives can do to make sure their message resonates more with Latinos, and he took aim at some of the harsh voices in the immigration debate:
“Stop listening to people that lost us the Congressional majority and the presidency for God’s sake,” Lopez said. “We tried it their way, and we got killed and all their candidates pretty much got killed.”
Here is hoping that conservatives heed that advice.
