Statement on Passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in the U.S. Senate

WASHINGTON, D.C.–Hispanic Leadership Fund president Mario H. Lopez issued the following statement following passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act in the U.S. Senate:

“The Hispanic Leadership Fund applauds Senators who have committed to much needed reform of our tax system.  Tonight’s passage is a positive and crucial step towards economic growth.  Pro-growth tax reform will make the U.S. a more competitive place to do business and expand opportunities for all Americans.  This bill will bring pay raises to all working-class families while lowering the tax burden on hard working taxpayers.  It also means increased job creation and opportunity for workers.  We look forward to the next legislative steps and getting a final bill to the president’s desk before Christmas.”
