In a new opinion piece for the Sacramento Business Journal, HLF’s president pushes back on California lawmakers’ latest attempt to scapegoat technology as the cause of the state’s affordable housing crisis.

California’s continued war on pricing software highlights a misguided approach to affordability.

“California lawmakers should stop wasting time on grandstanding and start addressing the real cause of the state’s housing affordability crisis,” Lopez writes. “The data are clear: California doesn’t have an algorithm problem. It has a housing shortage.”

Lopez calls this yet another instance of political theater that distracts from the state’s real supply and demand problems.
